New Delhi: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check has debunked two misleading claims circulating on social media, including one related to an alleged attack in Manipur and another involving a manipulated video of External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.

In the first case, Pakistani propaganda accounts claimed that, on the orders of Lt Gen VMB Krishnan, the Indian Army shot two women in Manipur and set their homes on fire. PIB Fact Check termed the claim “FAKE.”

According to PIB Fact Check, suspected terrorists attacked a hill village in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district and burnt down at least two houses while engaging in an exchange of fire with security forces.

In another case, a video being circulated on Facebook falsely depicted External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar promoting an investment scheme that allegedly promised returns of ₹90,000 per day on an initial investment of ₹22,000.

PIB Fact Check stated that the video had been manipulated using Artificial Intelligence (AI). It also clarified that Dr. S. Jaishankar had not endorsed or promoted any such investment scheme or platform.

PIB Fact Check advised users to avoid clicking on suspicious links and warned them against sharing their personal or financial details.
